Mountaintop Shabbat FAQ
1. What should I bring to the event?

Your own gondola ticket. Tickets can be purchased from the Aspen Mountain Ticket office located at the base of the gondola.

Something to sit on like a camp chair or picnic blanket.

Good walking shoes. The Aspen Mountain Concert Meadow is a 5-10 minute walk from the gondola exit.

Sun protection, sun hat, sunglasses, sunscreen

A gift card from City Market- Did you know that a full 33% of Pitkin County residents live below the “self-sufficiency standard,” an indicator of food insecurity? AJC is partnering with Lift Up to help fight hunger in the Roaring Fork Valley. Please bring gift cards of any amount, which will be distributed to families in need.
2. How long is the event?
We encourage everyone to arrive early and enjoy the morning. The gondola begins running at 10am and as we anticipate a line to upload. Pre-purchasing gondola passes and getting to the base by 9:45am is advised. Once you arrive in the Meadow, we will provide a light breakfast. Services and music will begin at 11:00am and last for approximately an hour.
3. What happens in case of rain?
The weather currently looks favorable for Saturday morning. In case of weather, the rain plan is to relocate to the Aspen Chapel. Should any plans be changed we will send an email blast by 9am Saturday morning. If you don’t receive our email or are unsure, contact Jason for any questions 516-205-0250.
4. Where exactly on the mountain is the event?
The Aspen Mountain Concert Meadow is a short walk on Richmond Ridge from the top of the gondola. AJC will have ushers and posted signs at the top of the gondola to direct you. Our ushers are also available to help carry your chairs over to the Concert Meadow.
5. I am not Jewish/not a member of the Aspen Jewish Congregation/not a resident of the Roaring Fork Valley. Can I still attend the event?
YES! YES! YES!
6. Will there be food?
YES, we are Jewish :) We will provide a light breakfast from 10:15-11:00 am. Additional food items may be purchased from the Aspen Mountain Sundeck Restaurant.
7. I have mobility issues. How will I get to the service location from the gondola, especially if I have to bring my own chair?
AJC will have ushers at the top of the gondola to escort and help carry your chairs over to the concert meadow.
8. I cannot afford a gondola ticket. Can I still join you?
No problem. Please contact our office and we will make arrangements.
